Best Beaches Near Nea Styra, Euboea

From the sandy coves of Nea Styra to the wild shores further south — the best places to swim near the villa.

Euboea's southern coast is one of the most underrated stretches of coastline in Greece. The water is clear, the beaches are rarely crowded, and the drive between them takes minutes rather than hours. Here are the best spots within reach of Seaside FC Villa.

Nea Styra Beach

Right at the front door. The beach at Nea Styra runs directly in front of the village, with calm, shallow water ideal for families. In high summer it picks up a little, but nothing like the Cyclades. The seafront tavernas are open from June through September.

Agios Nikolaos

Five minutes south of the villa by car. A narrow pebbly cove tucked between two low headlands, often empty even in August. Bring your own shade — there are no umbrellas for hire here.

Almyropotamos

A 20-minute drive south takes you to one of Euboea's longest beaches. Backed by pine trees, with shallow water that goes on for what feels like forever. There's a small beach bar that does cold coffee and toasted sandwiches.

Petalioi Gulf

The stretch of water directly in front of the villa — not a beach, but a bay worth mentioning. Calm, almost always flat, and deeply blue. On clear mornings you can see the Petalioi islands in the distance. The private beach at the villa sits right on the gulf's edge.

Practical notes

  • Sea temperatures: warm enough to swim from June, ideal from July through September
  • July–August brings the meltemi wind from the north — rarely strong here, but occasionally picks up in the afternoons
  • All beaches in Greece have free public access; paid sunbeds are optional at the organised ones

If you're staying at Seaside FC Villa and want to know which beach to go to on a given day depending on wind direction, just ask — the owners know the coast well.
